Conversation

This is the conversation that went on the other day at our house:

Me: Gretchen, go get dressed

Gretchen: Can I wear a skirt and shirt?

Me: Sure

a few minutes pass, she returns, in just her underwear

Gretchen: Why can't I wear a dress? (insert whiny voice)

Me: You can, you asked if you could wear a skirt and shirt, so I said you could, I never said you couldnt wear a dress, go ahead.

a few more minutes pass, she shows up wearing....a skirt and a shirt. She baffles me.
